Kedayan Platoon Singer

Param param

I am sure most of you are aware of this Platoon singer who seemed to be bullied by the officer to sing some songs, recorded using their mobile phones and later passed on to others throughout Brunei then worst, posted at YouTube! Ring a bell? It was a joke but ............... surprisingly he was then invited to a recording studio!!

FYI Kedayan language is a spoken dialect in Brunei.

Original video:

I had to laugh because that was rather unexpected lol. He obviously can sing and he is very spontaneous. I guess many girls would want to date him..... not me!

I quoted this from Mapin's comment in our forum: "
eh tapi mcm lawa jua suara ya ah. =\ lols!!! tepikat ku eh suara ya ah." (translation: but his voice is not bad lols! i am attracted to it .)" haha.

There has been an increasing no. of recording companies in Brunei and greater efforts have been made to attract and find talented singers. However, many locals especially the older generation have criticized these companies badly on their efforts to develop the entertainment business in Brunei. If the gov't (i heard during MOE meeting in Frankfurt 2 years ago) is trying to develop and improve the drama or perhaps movie industry, why can't we all be more optimistic about the whole entertainment industry? Ofcourse it is easily understood that we need more engineers, lawyers, doctors and more doctors, economists, consultants etc for Brunei's economy. That's why the terms "international market" and "creative promotion" are created. I really find it rather ironic when those people who oppose such idea actually watch Akademi Fantasia every Saturday night ;)
